Lego History

If I could embed this video I would. Recently the guys at Gizmodo took a tour of the LEGO factory. As you know we love LEGO so I was sucked in.

One of the things they were shown was the vault full of every LEGO set from the 1950’s to now. Wow! Some of this stuff is amazing. The video is viewable on site and well worth a look.

See how many sets you recognize and remember. I saw a few that my brother had and I remember being launched across the bedroom :P But they are a real treasure and brought back lots of those memories.

The other thing is check out all the videos and stories from Gizmodo’s LEGO trip, very cool. Great write up as well.

Share your happy memories in the comments!

    I love LEGO!

I dunno how many years I spent playing with my LEGO stuff… Back when LEGO was mostly square blocks and if you wanted to build a spaceship, you had to build it yourself! No custom pieces!

Then I got some of the custom sets… I think I had a bunch of the Space stuff. And I know I have a couple LEGO motors somewhere.

I still want to buy more LEGO, even now!

Ha same here! I actually have more love for Lego now than I did when I was a kid. Having a blast playing with it with my kids :)

Check this out- I have a Lego train set somewhere, motorized and zero custom pieces – so you could make some very interesting trains with it. I’ll have to set it up one day and show the kids.

Yeah my 7 & 8yo boys are into the lego starwars stuff. I reckon the coolest job in the world would be a designer for lego.

That way you would get paid for playing with it (good money too I bet)

I know your busy with work and the house Dave, but Im hanging out here for another episode !

    one coming this week ?

This week I saw a case for the DS Lite which made it look like old school LEGO…

@Captain Kybosh Sorry, sorry, sorry I have been pretty busy and forgot to login and approve comments – our email notification system is on the blink so we have to do it manual.

YES! Show is being uploaded as I write this… again sorry for the huge delay in moderating your comment. My bad.
