Over Five and a Half Million Downloads for Firefox 3 so far
The call went out to geeks across the globe, download Firefox 3 to help set a world record. Great job guys!
It’s not over yet and there’s over five and a half million downloads according to the Map stats. Before Firefox 3 was even available, Mozilla’s servers were feeling the burn. There’s a bit of time left, so it’s not too late to download, with Download Day 2008 starting at 10:00 a.m. 17 June 2008 (PDT or San Francisco time in the United States), and finishing at 11:16 a.m. 18 June, 2008 (PDT or San Francisco time in the United States). The current PDT time can be found here if you want to check it.
For those who have yet to see it, I’m a huge fan of the about:robots easter egg in Firefox 3 and the awesome robot art that goes with it. Lifehacker has also released the Power Users Guide to Firefox 3 already, with lots of great tweaks and tricks.

Nice Post Cait. Thanks for the info, just downloaded. Interesting that Iran has more downloads than Australia and China.
Take care,
Dave

Great map, Cait! I was able to download to work and laptop this a.m. in the Eastern US! Tried right after it went “live” - but,of course, we crashed their server.

@Herne I can’t draw to save my life and as yet, the internet has not provided me with a stick figure generator
@Dave the numbers are bigger! Over 6.8 Million and still going up!
@Brie I got ahead of myself and went to download it before it went live, I thought we were doing it in order of timezone.
