[...] Pretty much sums up twitter up-late. The other thing is that us Aussies must be making an impact on the twitter scene. There is certainly a big contingent of Aussies out there that are twitter nuts, so hop to it and see what you are missing. Or check out the Global Geek Podcast twitter special, all about twitter. We even talk about this very aspect of twitter - the light night twitter goings on from Oz. [...]

Well, my friend, here in the states, a Cracker is a redneck. And I don't think you meant to say your show was a redneck. So I'll assume it's a bit of slang that means "better than a drop bear". Or summat like that.

@Honest_ape thanks for dropping by. Not our regular type of show - but it was cool to do a few specials. Back to the regular format this week coming.

Heck I'll answer to most things :)

Thought that the homepage question is a good one to start our interviews with as it gives them a good launching point to talk about something they know and we get to hear something interesting about them that most people don't know. Yeah I am a bit the same. I have set up Netvibes but I don't use it much. It is good if I just have a few minutes and want to see the headlines of a few crucial feeds etc, but nothing more. It isn't like I go "Home" much.

Thanks for the comment and checking out the show. Visit again when things are back to normal as far as shows are concerned. We just finished recording ep 83 - it was a cracker (we think) but we were drinking so who knows what everyone else thinks :P

Cheers!

First show I've listened to. Great show, Rooster. Or is it Dave? Or is it Dee Snyder's long-lost brother??
;)

Interesting, considering how you ask folks what their home page is, that I don't use one. With firefox and its ability to open your closed tabs when you start your browser, combined with the google search bar, I never use a home page. Don't even have one set up. Weird, eh?

Well, Dave, thanks for hooking me up to the show. Great listen.

WebKit is also the name of the Mac OS X system framework version of the engine that's used by Safari, Dashboard, Mail, and many other OS X applications.

I have a few things to say but will do that later tomorrow. Now I am just gonna plug a poll I made asking people to vote on how old they are. It's an anon poll so you don't have to do anything but click a button. I just thought it would be a fun thing to do.

Love it if you would all vote if you use Twitter

Oh, I found an interesting article on the BBC about "Net censoring." It just proves my theory that soon ever country will have it's own Internet, blocking out what they don't want their citizens to see. So much for "global interaction."

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/7312327.stm

A new book details the extent to which countries across the globe are increasingly censoring online information they find strategically, politically or culturally threatening.

Access Denied: The Practice and Policy of Global Internet Filtering challenges the long-standing assumption that the internet is an unfettered space where citizens from around the world can freely communicate and mobilise. In fact, the book makes it clear that the scope, scale and sophistication of net censorship are growing.

I don't "hate" Safari, I just avoid using it. I think I have Safari, IE for Mac, and Firefox on this machine. Before I switched to a G5, I think I still had Netscape too. I prefer Firefox, but I don't hate Safari...I only hate IE.

I've been listening for some time now but I don't remember you review JetBrains Omea reader. I highly recommend it and use it instead of Feed Daemon. It is free and supports RSS, Atom, NNTP groups together with many other things like email and notes. Please take a look if you haven't yet.

Cheers,

Just when I thought it was working - Feed Demon has failed to pick up this latest Podcast (it has picked up all the other blog posts up to this). I've been updating it all day to see if it appears.

Actually, I'm sorry that I found this podcast anyway. All the twitter about Twitter was too much for me - not a fan of the service, but that's just me.

Can't wait until you get back to your usual format. Oh, and welcome back Cait.

PS. Dave - Is your nickname Ugly by any chance?

Isn't this the case that Twitting (funny word) about what you are doing means that you get half of the time for doing it? :-D

Alright, alright you've made your point :).
I am on twitter again and I will give some time to get addicted.
My twitter url is http://twitter.com/WebFreelancer and I am already following the GGP. I think any way to make the GGP more popular is worth a try. The only thing that annoyed me was that when you sign up for Twitter they ask you for your Gmail password to spam all your friends and the skip link is way too small at the bottom.

It's good that Cait is back!
I hope the next episode will be better for Keith's time zone.

Definantly an insteresting show! I haven't used twitter before, but I might check it out. Also just a note about Second Life, don't walk around with a donation box on your head in "The Pond". It does get you banned:D
Anyway good show and good to see cait's back.
