FeedDemon is Now Free!

Well blow me down with a feather!

Massive news today as Nick Bradbury announces that FeedDemon is now FREE! Now is a better time that ever to get a killer app for zero. But it gets better! Not only is FeedDemon free but so is:

But wait, it gets better still! Today sees the release of the latest version of FeedDemon in version 2.6! Proof of Nick’s assurances that this does not mean the end of development. The reason Nick says that they are offering FeedDemon for free is that NewsGator as a company is surging ahead. Part of the strategy for this is making the consumer product free so that the company becomes better known. Also with the attention data and logging now included in the latest version, the more users the better the data and the ability to see what is important to consumers. Trading this data and not your privacy is a good deal for both sides and they are willing to boost users by offering the product for free.

Somebody pinch me…

Just in case you are wondering - if you purchased a copy of FeedDemon after December 9th then you will get a full refund. That from Nick on his blog in the comments. Not sure on the details though. I will post more info as I get it.

What the heck are you doing reading this still? Go see why I think FeedDemon is the best feed reader that you can get for FREE!

I just saw this today and wondered if you knew about it and of course, I should of known better. This is awesome news.

  2. George Says:

Indeed it is good news. I was only downloaded it this week for a trial. Happy new year all.

  3. Eric Says:

When they where “here” for Capital Day the speaker mentioned 90% of their income is B2B

Downloaded NNW and I’ll play with it over the next few days. I just don’t know how I’m going to like using it as a client. The one thing I love about Google Reader is that it’s ubiquitously available. If I could sync it with NNW, then maybe…

  5. Dave Gray Says:

@Keith actually NNW is much more portable than that. You can read your feeds via the web interface or another NewsGator reader. From the blurb on NNW:

“Synchronized clippings – read your saved articles from the web or another NewsGator reader.”

So that means cross platform sync! Nice. The cool thing as well is the fact that when you read stuff online on another PC then it syncs with your desktop version - try that with Google Reader :P
