Vista Transformation Pack 8 For Free

When you take into consideration that XP Service Pack 3 will provide numerous items and security enhancements that were once unique to Vista to XP, shouldn’t you just go the whole nine yards and make XP LOOK like Vista as well? [No - Ed] If so, check out the Vista Transformation Pack 8.0.1. This transformation pack adds Aero Glass without the use of WindowsBlinds and WinFlip. The release also contains numerous system performance tweaks. I prefer the clean, old style look of XP myself, but according to the screenshot, you pretty much get the whole shebang without having to install and use Vista.

  • -Fixed crappy hotfix issue, no more workaround trick required to avoid that
  • -Ability to save transforming information for later uses and unattended transformation
  • -Ability to detect the targeted machine and give suggested setup configuration
  • -Some transformation procedures refinements you should look at like pre-configure on first run, removed obsolete dialogs and msn skin, etc.
  • -New 3rd-party apps and new version of existing apps

Best of all, the software is still free and can be downloaded here.

Yeah…I’ve been avoiding Vista like the plague, so I’m not sure I’m going to install this new SP3 just yet. I’m thinking that Micro$oft is spending far too much time on making things look pretty and not enough time on making things work and work efficiently. Just give me a solid OS!

I’m actually running XP SP2 with mostly old-style-looking Windoze98 skins, and I have it configured to look mostly like my office Mac G5 desktop.

Yeah, I am using XP SP 2 and I want SP 3 to come out so I can make a new slipstreamed CD. It will be nice to install XP again without having to download and install 53 updates afterwards.

I also have the bells and whistles turned off and my XP machine looks more like a standard Windows 2000 installation.

I think that service pack 3 - which should be out early next year. Will make XP pretty good. From early reports the performance improvement is very good.

I run standard XP with the Zune theme (only good thing to come of the Zune project), with no icons - rocket dock and launchy. Other than those improvements it is pretty much stock standard.

Back to the SP3 thing though. I think that they should have further developed XP and really what SP3 will be is what Vista should have been - and some.

Think of it this way : If you install this crap : Cat’s will digg your pc !
As for me ? I’ve got my Windows XP Sp2 running with the “classic” view , no bells or whistles. You have to look at it this way. Eyecandy is fun, but if you have to trade in effecienty and computer-speed to get it , it just is not worth your time. Its like riding a pimped car : Looks cool , Ooh’s and Aah’s everywhere. But when you come to a speedbump you have to take a three street detour just to get to the other side. And i’m not bashing windows here no sir ! The whole Ubuntu compiz fusion thing is the same. Some of the improvements are nice, others are just a plain waste of time. The “spinning cube ? ‘ come on now ! Its nice to play with for 20 seconds but if that is the way you need to switch desktops all the time ? I’m installing win 3.1.

Downloaded it, found out it has lots of bugs and errors. So I tired removing it, and it left half of its crap. So I went to repair it using the windows xp disc, but I couldn’t find it!!! So I borrowed my brothers vista home permium cd and installed it! Yes I have vista because of this!!!!!My computer needed a make-over, as it was getting alot of errors. All’s good now..looking forward to see how vista goes (on a fairly basic machine, 3.2ghz P4,1gb ram)
