Techmeme Leaderboard Spills The Beans
This post is by Guest Blogger Jeff of Jeffro2ptO. Jeff sent this in late last week so I waited until now to post it as it clashed with podcast production. Cheers Jeff!

The big news of the day today is that Techmeme has launched a new website called Techmeme Leaderboard. This leaderboard will quickly become a mecca of good source information for bloggers. The leaderboard displays a list of source links where the more times a link is posted on Techmeme as a source of information, the higher that link will appear on the list. Techmeme calls this term ‘Presence’ which is, the percentage of headline space a source occupies over the 30-day period
“Discussion” links are not taken in to consideration here rather, only full headlines are counted. I know Dave probably has most if not all of these sources of information in his feed reader already however, the Techmeme Leaderboard currently has a link available where you can download an OPML file which contains the entire list. Click here to download the OPML file.

When I wrote this article, I had no idea about the rage that this new service seems to be giving all sorts of different bloggers.

Beats me why. Yeah I have seen a few things. Meh, the list is full of blogs that are usually associated with either big business or have a heap of cash. In fact there are not that many “real” blogs on that list.

Just have to understand what it is… it’s Techmeme’s source of stories… Not their list of Top 100 Blogs.
