Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

Well we are alive and well. Many apologies for the absence last week. We have good excuses, although Keith’s is a bit lame… But then he is Canadian.
This week we made our own Tech News with Tim’s Linux 1 week challenge, Keith’s Leopard and Dave’s dual screens.
Applications this week is IM from Mozilla, screen savers [...]

Lightning, the cool email extension covered in TGGP episode 59 is now at version 0.7. Released on October 25th, Lightning now sports a new interface design. Instead of dragging the calendar pane up or down to display the calendar, the moveable pane has been replaced by two icons. One for MAIL and the other for [...]

Improved Map Of The Internet

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

Just the other day, I wrote about an article published by NewScientist which discussed an internet census that was conducted, mapping out the entire internet. The map they provided didn’t provide very much in the way of detail and at times, was difficult to read. Now, someone has taken the idea two steps further by [...]

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

Hey Global Geeks, it’s the GGP’s Mac Lab Rat here with a quick update on this week’s show.

IE7 Stripped Of WGA

Friday, October 5th, 2007

The Internet Explorer team has announced today that IE7 will no longer have WGA attached to it and will be available for download to all Windows users. Today’s “Installation and Availability Update” will contain IE 7 without Windows Genuine Advantage.
This is either a move sparked by increasing market share that Mozilla FireFox is obtaining or [...]

The Anti-Social

Thursday, October 4th, 2007

New social network for people that are anti-social or that are just sick of it.
Bugroff is the social network for the anti-social, there are not many people on it, there are no updates and nothing to do.
Very funny, Tim should feel right at home…
Really highlights the social overload that we are a tad erked with [...]

Open Letter to Amazon

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007

This blog post is a result of a couple of facts:

Amazon contact page is a bitch to find
Once I found it and skipped the sign in because I did not have an account the form required me to have an order number. Of course I did not have one. So it refused to send squat.
While [...]
