The Global Geek Podcast #060 :: Then There Were Three

Here is this weeks GGP! This is show number 60 and we have a special guest so please jump on board and celebrate with us. This weeks show is a longish one, nothing I could do about that because it is all really, really good and I could not cut it. Trust me it will be worth it!

This week in Tech the Skype crash of 2007, Paramount make a move on High Def formats and what to do with that old vibrator… no kidding…

We have something for Linux geeks in applications as well as something to delete files forever and a top little app to turn those .mp3’s into audio books for your iPod.

After the Mac Lab report we have a site that offers a one click download solution for video, instant video chat and a page that will ruin your day.

All that and more including your feedback a swag of updates on this week’s GGP!

    FIRST !

  3. Peter Bryant Says:

Just listened to the GGP from the moon but there is no Internet out here so I did have to send KW back to earth to get it. loved the show as always. vconvert.net is a vary nice site going to use it to convert some videos for my PSP and the ASCII wars on Skye was fun but I don’t think ASCII will work in a IRC chat room :-(
and I hope HD-DVD wins the HD war

  4. Knightwise Says:

yeah .. always have to shuttle back and forth from Lunar Base to somewhere where I can pick up some intenet pipe. Stupid Norbert….

  5. Tony Says:

Bah the GGP Bot was moderated…He won’t be happy about that.

  6. Knightwise Says:

    @Tony :) Lol ! Looks like Dave’s Spam filter even listens to the show :) He just moderated ya out ! :) … or should i say : 01010100 01101111 01101110 01111001 00100000 01101001 01110011 00100000 01100001 00100000 01100010 01101111 01110100 00100000 (”Tony is a Bot” in binary)

  7. Global Geek Says:

    FIRST… eh Knightwise?

Looks like the spam filter caught up with you.

Hope you guys liked the show, we had a great time recording it.

  8. hugh Says:

    did indeed enjoy the show

  10. Knightwise Says:

@Tim .. is that a Bus powered or a steam powered soundcard you had ?

  11. GGP Bot Says:

    TIMMY!!!!!!

Am I the only one that thinks Timmy should give up membership to the worldwide geek club for not knowing who Cory was….sheesh mate your credibility is shot :P

Apart from that was an enjoyable show as usual. KW is getting nuttier than a fruitcake lately bu as long as he stays on dark side of the moon we are somewhat safe.

  12. George Says:

Hey leave Tim alone, I had to google Cory.

    -10 geek points for me.

  13. GGP Bot Says:

Ok anyone who didn’t know who Cory was needs to give up 10 geek points.

  14. Knightwise Says:

I knew he was from the EFF (10 geek points for me)

  15. Knightwise Says:

@hugh … You can always sell “steely dan” to some oil rig in the north sea. They can always use an extra drill.

  16. Knightwise Says:

@hugh .. what exactly DO you do with your steely dan.. erm .. never mind. I somehow don’t want to know.

  17. George Says:

    lol

Bad thoughts in my head trying to work out what steely dan KW was talking about.

And who was it that said KW was getting nuttier than a fruitcake.

  18. Knightwise Says:

its easy to be nuttier the fruitcake. Its a problem when you are nuttier then a peacan pie !

  19. Dave Gray Says:

Thanks for chiming in this week guys… even if most of it was meaningless drivel :)

And to the newbie Michael, good work holding the string tighter towards the end.
