The Global Geek Podcast #059 :: Interruptions
Hey Guys, welcome to this weeks Global Geek Podcast. This week was somewhat interesting, we had some issues with Skype. We think that the latest version of Skype does not want to play nice with older versions, anyone else having similar issues?
So this week in Tech The Aussie government thinks it knows best, AOL to bury a love child and a phone bill that you would not want, or your relatives for that matter.
We don’t have a huge number of applications this week, but hey their good. Just like one that allows you to move from one photo hosting service to another without a headache. The extensions this week is a Thunderbird Special! We have a killer combination of a calender and scheduler with two way Google Calendar Sync, so listen out for that.
Some killer sites and services such as one that enables to to search for and play any audio or video file from the entire internet, something for the digial photographer. Plus an absolute cracker of a service for online forms.
Your Feedback and more on this weeks installment. Please enjoy!

Great show as always chaps!!
I have an idea for your GoDaddy promo for next week, you should do it in the theme of Austin Powers, groovy babay!!
Also wanted to pass on a great photo sharing site called Phanfare the reason that I like thier serivce is that it is real simple to use. I have set up lots of family members and friends and they all love it. The other really great thing is that there is no limit to the amount of photos that you can uypload, there are many great features including being able to down load your orginals, download pre configured slide shows to mention just a few. They have various price structures ($50usd per year, $300usd for life) Give it a go and let me know what you think.

Hi
Here’s one of your listeners. I’ve been listening to the last 10 podcasts. I quite like your podcast and it’s right after G’DayWorld on my TPN list.
IMHO, it would be funny for you guys to talk about the dumbest Web 2.0 services you can find :].
On even better, a list of the worst web 2.0 services listed somewhere on the blog with new glorious arrivals all the time.
On the other hand, this is really good:
http://www.bugmenot.com - it lets you register with a fake email address which gets deleted after you’ve received your activation link.
Cheers, Guys!

It seems itunes has removed show #59 from the list. Wonder if its in response to Timmys babbling on about Apple.

[...] I discovered this application via The Global Geek Podcast Episode 59 It’s called Migratr. Migratr was originally developed to allow you to download all of your photos from one web service, then import them into another. But, as Dave mentioned on the show, this tool has a dual purpose. [...]

[...] Lightning, the cool email extension covered in TGGP episode 59 is now at version 0.7. Released on October 25th, Lightning now sports a new interface design. Instead of dragging the calendar pane up or down to display the calendar, the moveable pane has been replaced by two icons. One for MAIL and the other for CALENDAR. In my opinion, a much needed changed as it’s so much easier to access the calendar. Among the interface changes, here are a few other things to check out in this latest version: [...]
