If an Operating System Were an Airline
First I have to say that James is a bit of a rebel. He refuses to get caught up in any hype what so ever, doesn’t use WordPress or any other “well known” management platforms. He actually uses Geeklog, and takes pride in the fact that he does it all himself, no plugin’s here.
If you take a look at the front page the weather details on the left come right off his own weather station, and yes he hand coded that himself, but that’s James for you. He uses Mac’s as servers and is a totally devoted Mac fan. Yup he has tried the rest. And don’t go looking for any glossy RSS button, he says that if people know what RSS is then they will know what to do, he doesn’t care about the rest. Again thats just him.
Now James doesn’t update anything very often, in fact he does not give 2 hoots about SEO either. But today he posted something that you may or may not have seen before. It is the If Airlines were Operating Systems analogy. I have seen similar things before but this one is equally funny. Take a look and a laugh and take a look around The Gray Matter while you are there. He has done a good job and the whole website is a credit, even if it is somewhat “old school”. That’s the way he likes it.
James also runs a family email server and home network. He is a programmer and Network System Administrator. He is a commercial pilot and now takes a spin in a plane for pleasure. Plus if you have not worked it out, he is also my brother. Keep up the good work J and don’t let the turkey’s get you down.
