AutoStitch :: The Results are Great
As we mentioned on the show a few weeks back George sent us a great email telling us a bit about himself. It was truly awesome to get get to know one of our listeners. What was also great about his email is that he sent us a panorama that he took. George used some software that we reviewed on the podcast called AutoStitch.
The picture speaks for itself. George gave us permission to post the photo to our Flickr page for everyone to take a look at. The first picture is the “stitched” photo that was compiled by the software and the final version is one that has been cropped. I am not sure how many George took to create the final image, but it looks like about three.
As far as I can see there is only one very small imperfection in the photo where two images have joined, but then it is only one spot and not down the whole image. This could be easily edited with editing software. Considering the whole image was stitched in software, I think it is great. Especially if you don’t want to fork out the big bucks to get a camera that does it. Or you just want the advantage of taking one photo every now and then in panorama.
Not only will AutoStitch create a horizontal panorama it will also stitch together a large image with photos that go vertically. You can see an example of this on the homepage for the software. Very useful tool that gives very good results.
Thanks again to George for sharing the images with us. The image is taken on George’s family farm between Brisbane and Toowoomba, Queensland Australia.
AutoStitch is available for free! It is available for Windows. AutoStitch is a part of the “pro” software for Windows and Mac called Autopano Pro, it has a few more features; however it is going to cost you 99 EU. Go the free version in my humble opinion, George proved it is more than capable. Also check out the gallery of images created using AutoStitch if you are not convinced.

Why why WHY is there constantly a new “Clippy Prank” in your feed? It’s getting quite irritating. There are currently five in there. Erase them, and more show up like roaches in my feed catcher. It looks like there may be a new episode of TGG, but NO it’s just more damn clippy pranks. Is there another feed where this madness doesn’t occur? The joke is getting old.

Hello J
I have no idea why you might be having this problem. I may be able to help isolate the issue though.
I have checked the feed and that particular entry that you refer to only appears once. So deleting it is not the issue. The feed has not been updated or modified. If it had been this might explain it as some feed readers are sensitive to modifications in the feed and then download the entire feed again. Not a single entry.
I can tell you that I am subscribed in iTunes and this same problem is not occurring. I will subscribe to the feed in a few readers and see if I can duplicate the problem. No one else has reported this either (they just might not have said anything). If there are any listeners that are having this issue please let me know.
What reader are you using out of interest?
Couple of work-arounds and possible fixes:
1. If you are only wanting podcast updates then try using the podcast only feed:
http://globalgeek.thepodcastnetwork.com/category/podcast/
2. Try un-subscribing then resubscribe to the same feed
3. Use iTunes (I agree you should not have to if you don’t want to)
Our feed is generated by WordPress, we don’t hand code it. I will email our sysAdmin and make sure there have been no problems. I will also run the feed by Tim to make double sure it is ok. On face value I really don’t think the problem is at our end. I will ensure that it is not and make sure no one else is having the same issue. If anyone is then please tell me!
Other than these things there really is not much that I can do at my end. I don’t have access to the feed at all so I can’t make huge changes (I wish that I did have access to it!)
Please let me know how you get on and let me know. please feel free to use the feedback email address.

I used to have the clippy prank listed as “clippy prank” and then the episode as well. Both seemed to be the same.
I never had more than one of each though. Im not on my desktop so i cant check it at the moment.
iTunes does some bizzaare stuff so nothing surprises me.
