@Nathan thank you heaps dude... I knew we had true fans out there somewhere :) We truly value your support and continued listening of the show. Glad that you understand the whole moving thing!

@BlogSlut... thanks again dude we don't call you the resident BlogSlut for nothing. Oh and we were refering to Parallels being a VM not BootCamp :)

@Jeff I have answered your question, although more than likely not the way you were expecting, in the blog. Hope that does the trick.

[...] After giving Download Squad a right royal ribbing this week over what we considered quite bias journalism, this week I am impressed! They have a fairly new podcast called “Download Squad Switcher Podcast”, now up to the second edition. Nothing special in so much as there are plenty of Mac podcasts out there. However the second edition was great. The podcast addressed some of my personal concerns over Mac and swapping, especially since these guys were Windows users. They spoke with Jason Clarke and Lisa Hoover about swapping to a Mac after being windows users. It was great to hear what was good bad and ugly about it. There was not so much ugly though, which is nice. [...]

[...] This post is inspired by another listener question (See comments for our previous show). Jeff once again asks us about images for posting to web pages and I presume blog posts, he writes: “I am looking for a FireFox extension that calculates the image dimensions for a proportionately resized image. I want the extension to allow me to figure out the proportionate size of an image if I resize it. For instance, I have a 800X600 sized image, but I want to create a thumbnail image which will be smaller. Using the extension, I want to be able to type in either the Height dimension or the Width dimension and the opposite value will be calculated for me allowing me to know that the image will be sized proportionately.” [...]

First off the rumours that I paid for all the mentions this week are false.

I surely can't be the only enlightened Mac user who listens to TGGP. I got my new Mac back today and the issue was the logic board, guess better it melted down early on. Yes I do have Vista on it and that is primarily for gaming.

I do have a few comments on the actual show. Parallels 2.? always allowed you install partition using bootcamp providing you were running XP or earlier. I had to create a new partition for Vista which was a tad annoying. I have downloaded Parallels 3 tonight but haven't properly installed it as yet but if I can boot to Vista Bootcamp partition that would be nice. AFAIK 3D gaming support also is only for XP so I am still using Bootcamp to run Vista. I also don't think it is technically VM Ware. It does run Windows but uses different technology to do so and running in Convergence mode is very sweet.

Newsfeed readers. I actually use the free Netnewswire Lite and that is fine with me. I have maybe close to 60-70 feeds in my reader and go through them at my leisure. It has support for blogging using Marsedit or ecto (my choice) and will publish to Wordpress. Very simple process and it just works and works well. Never used Feeddemon and probably won't but I am sure it's a great program. Re the biased report, Mac is better live with it :P

I may have a look at Permanent Eraser. I was cleaning up a lot of stuff on weekend using a program called CleanApp which does a similar thing and hopefully clears all traces of a when you delete it.

MailBadger I will pass on, I just don't see the point. When you get new mail it shows you unread messages already as it is, well except for mail you have sorted into folders and in that case I get to them when I have time. I rarely get anything that's urgent or important anyways. RssFwd...what is the point of that..honestly.

That's pretty much ll for now. This week's song was much better and I liked it.

Maybe I will do a show with Timmy if he is nice to me, tho better of getting Mr Specht or someone interesting rather than boring old me.

Till next week.

Hey guys, can I just say sorry on behalf of my fellow listener for the unfounded snide comments. They are completely unfounded. Great show yet again guys, it still blows me away every week that you can produce such great content week in week out. True fans of the geek absolutely understand that you need time off for your big move Dave, good luck with it all. Also good luck to Tim with his new job. Cheers, Nathan.

Hi guys

Dave and Tim i sent you email feedback this week to avoid doing work at work, but cant remember if I metioned the listener podcast idea. Potentially it is a great idea, particularily if people can add a different spin (such as KW did).

Cheers

Hey Guys,

Love the show and while I was listening today I was surprised when you mentioned the company I work for, PodcastPeople.com. Thanks for taking the time to check out our service and giving us such glowing reviews. One bit of positive feedback makes the time we've spent developing what we think is the best podcasting application on the market worth it. Hope you guys have a chance to really dig into the service as we add even more exciting features, some of which will be tailored to "advanced" podcasters. Anyway, love the show. Keep up the good work.

@Dave Gray - I became "not a regular listener" not that long ago. Don't take it personaly, but I was listening to the show mostly because of knightwise. You guys make a great show, but knightwise gives it a bit of unique kick...

But again "you can't satisfy everyone".

Cheers.

Thanks for all the comments guys!

@Jeffro - OneInchPixel.com is a separate entity to the GGP so I'd prefer to hear feedback on the the OneInchPixel site.

@MeIr - Dave is correct, if you were a regular listener then you would know where Knightwise is.

Now before you become a comment troll, take Dave's advice. [waves hand] These aren't the podcasts your looking for. Move along.

Good show as always fellas. I love the idea that Tim proposed by doing a show with the fans of the show. I volunteer to take part in this event if that occurs. It's going to suck not having the ability to fulfill my GEEK fix but I understand that the move requires your full attention and I can only hope that after the break you guys will be in full swing. Who knows, maybe being away from the show for a period of time will allow new ideas for the show to float through your head. Again good luck with the move.

I still don't understand the purpose of OneInchPixel. Will it be a blog that features website designs from across the web or will it be something else? I'm still searching for a bit of clarification. And as far as Movable Type going open source, I think it may be a bit too late to catch up with WordPress. Wordpress has spread beyond the common blogger. For instance sites such as TechCrunch and CNN use WordPress which speaks volumes in and of itself. I even use WordPress for http://www.jeffro2pt0.com and I am amazed at how simple it is to use and design for. The plugins are abundant and with the ability to use widgets things just couldn't be easier to use.

Since you guys pulled through on my last FireFox extension question, I figured I could come back and ask for another one. I am looking for a FireFox extension that calculates the image dimensions for a proportionately resized image. I want the extension to allow me to figure out the proportionate size of an image if I resize it. For instance, I have a 800X600 sized image, but I want to create a thumbnail image which will be smaller. Using the extension, I want to be able to type in either the Height dimension or the Width dimension and the opposite value will be calculated for me allowing me to know that the image will be sized proportionately. I sure hope this makes sense. I have checked out a Web 2.0 service called Resizr but they only support the .JPG file format.

By the way, I'm loving FeedDemon.

I’m still searching for a bit of clarification. The plugins are abundant and with the ability to use widgets things just couldn’t be easier to use.

By the way, I’m loving FeedDemon.

@MeIr First off you are obviously not a regular listener - if you were you would know the answer to the question.

Secondly I think that your comment is rather unhelpful and nonconstructive. We invite all our listers to comment and make suggestions sure, but it is also useful if you have some suggestion to make the show better.

Not only that, the way that you have made your comment is insulting and demeaning to the hard work that we put into the show. If you find it boring then please find something else to listen to. Or I would invite you to do better.
