Firefox Extension :: ThumbStrips
I don’t know about you but I surf the net at a pretty furious rate. That means that trying to go back and find a site that I was at in the history is a bit of an ask. In fact I hate looking through the history! Plus I regularly clear my private data, making my history not so comprehensive. ThumbStrips might be the answer.
Thumbstrips “records” as you surf. Click start and ThumbStrip starts recording your visits to each site with a screenshot as well. As you progress you get a film like representation of where you have been. Makes looking for that site that you remember with the weird URL a lot easier. Time is also included on the “film”. So say you know the site that you were looking for you visited about 5 minutes ago. Maximise the interface and go back about 5 minutes and find the thumbnail screenshot. Another great feature is that there is a search included, so that helps narrow it down.
If you want to you can share your ThumbStrips from the ThumbStrip site for the extension. Just be sure to save your current strip as it opens it in the extension interface and you loose your current ThumbStrip. But you can record a session and directly share these with others without the website, just send them the file. Strips are saved with a .film extension.
Pretty cool Firefox extension. Great for those visual thinkers among us.
