[...] However, that said I think that it is a great looking site, with a simplistic design and access to a wide range of search engines. This is a good thing. Many of the multiple search engines out there focus on complex searches with lots of options and variables. whonu, is one such service that we talked about in Episode #042, it has options and features up the wazoo. Sputtr doesn’t do any of that. Simple straight forward search, that looks good. Great for people who are easily confused, or want something like that. I think that it would also be great for kids to use (thinking the tweens here). [...]

My first computer was an Apple II (not a IIe).

You can hear Barack Obama say his own name on his podcast: http://obama.senate.gov/podcast/

He's quite articulate and inspiring, a nice change from the local pollies.

Re Typing Tutors, the following site provides good info on the TT's available, including the free ones. It pretty much lists all of them and their home sites along with info about each one.

Cheers,

Ok, got to admit I have not listened to the show but some feedback on Calgoo. When sync'ing with Outlook on Windows XP it hammers your system big time, both my disk and CPU go into overdrive. If I can get it's resource hungry little arse under control I might use it.

Hmmmmm where to start??? I think you used an old promo for The Rock Show. Iain Foulds isn't doing any shows anymore.

Turkey did lift the Youtube ban I believe 1-3 days after they put it in place.

Barack Obama name is prounced Ba-raack Obama for future reference. I think it's a good idea and as mentioned if you want to focus on the youth you have to appear on places like MySpace and youtube, no matter how bad MySpace is it's were 'the kids" hang out and therefore where they need to hang out. kennedy took several bloggers around the country with him when he started his run at president along with the normal media, Scoble was one, sos it was good to see that they are getting the point that online is an important place to be.

I read the guy sues Microsoft story and I feel his embarassment but not sure Microsoft are the people to be going after. he should have upgrading his security software/hardware more often as Tim said and this wouldn't have been an issue. I don't believe they found anything illegal on his puter anyway and I would maybe going after the govt for illegal detainment of his puter :P

My first computer was also a C64 and i think i still have it. got a huge hard-drive with it that cost a fortune and I believe i even have some games still for it in my wardrobe, which I am sure I will find when i have to pack everything away for renovations.

I guess shutdown day could come as a good time for me to do some packing, but i know I won't :P

iFeedPod sounds like a good idea. can you listen to your iPod while reading the feeds though? If not then it's useless to me.

Calgoo could be the long awaiting calander app Cam has been looking for the last 12 months. Personally i have no interest in a calender app as I don't have any apointments but for those that do i am sure it could be very handy.

doPDF...OH man you poor Windows users. On Macs we have preview that will open PDF docs instantly for read purposes and it comes with your machine for free. Maybe should do a show on all the great free stuff that comes on a Mac that you either have to pay for on Windows or get an inferior download somewhere else.

I am pretty sure I have Gizmo, ok i don't, but i have tried using it before and it is a lil complicated. if i have a preference it would be Skype though to be honest I hardly ever use that either. Although the ability to use it to chat with people on other services sounds pretty handy as well and maybe worth downloading again.

I actually use a program call 1passwd for my security stuff on my Mac. It is a pay program but is very useful and you can also take notes and have them encrypted and several other cool lil things. You can check it out at http://1passwd.com/

I think you should try doing add-ons for some other browsers at some time as well. i know safari has some, i think opera does and even IE7 too I think.. I know most add-ons are for Firefox but it wouldn't hurt to expand.

Tim did good on his show and I am actually using one his wallpapers on my mac, can you guess which one :P?

That's all for now and will chat later.
