I thought this was only fair and because I think these icons are awesome. I do think that Mac has it over windows in the icon department. They sure look great. But the good thing is that not all these icons are Mac only, some are available for both platforms. Call it balance Knightwise.

The site is pixelpressicons and from the little information that there is on the page the author is Gary W. Gehiere. Some icons are single icons and some are multiple contained in a .dmg file. The site says that there are 140 icons available. Now I know my maths are bad (really bad) but the number that I get falls a lot short of 140. However there is a set of free icons for web and application use and it may include these as well.

The main set are for personal use only and may not be redistributed in any way. The Royalty Free icon set may be used as you wish and are in .gif format.
Now I said these were available for Windows as well. Not all but some. There is a blog associated with these icons and it is here that there are a few more icons and some that have been rendered for use on Windows. Just have a poke around I am sure you’ll find them:

They say it is quality not quantity and these icons fit that description. Very nice work. Mac users; have fun. Windows users scrounge what you can.
