Clippy Prank

It would seem that we here at The Geek have a love hate relationship with Clippy, that irritating office assistant care of Microsoft. So this week I have found for you a take on Clippy in the form of a prank that you can use to annoy and frustrate your colleagues. This is one for all you office workers that should not be reading this post and would rather be giving someone else the shits.

So here it is Clippy v 1.00 from RJL Software. This little application is for Windows only. Download it and install on targets computer. What it then does is it sits in the background for one minute then it strikes and then every minute there after popping up in the bottom right corner is the Clippy avatar that we all know and love offering useless hints:
- It appears you are connected to the Internet.
- I see that you have been using your mouse.
- Your computer seems to be turned on.
- It looks like your keyboard is working correctly.
- Your productivity has been decreasing lately. I hope everything is ok.
Clippy comes with about a dozen default “hints”. But it gets better; there is no right click hide on this gem and no apparent way for the user to shut it down. Plus there is the option to customize your own hints using a .txt file. Clippy also respond to “?” displayed on the screen with “yes” and “no” clickable options. Fully customizable from a command line you could really have some fun with this.
So make Clippy even more annoying and drive someone absolutely nuts.

How to close Clippy:
Move your mouse pointer to the TOP LEFT corner of your screen. This will stop the program from running in memory. If you have successfully moved your mouse in the correct position, the program will close and display an About Box Screen. Once you close this screen, the program will exit. Exiting the software will allow Windows to delete the file.
