This week is a first for The Global Geek Podcast, our first special edition. This week we talk about what it takes to put the show together.
For you the show is about an hour of the latest technology news and the usual segments. For us the podcast is a week long journey that starts the day after the show is published. We invite you to tag along this week as we tell you the secrets of what makes the podcast work.
For those that are thinking of producing their own show; this episode will help you get started. We share some tips on sourcing material, editing, collaboration, hardware and equipment and the essentials of post production.
We throw in some behind the scenes sound clips of things you never hear. Plus some pictures on Flickr and we made our show notes available for you to look at.

Hi Guys!
Finally I managed to listen to the special edition GGP and I have to admit I didn’t realize it could be so complicated and time consuming to do a podcast. This edition clearly shows what a tremendous amount of work you guys have to do before we (the listeners) can download a show and enjoy it.
I would love to see sometime in the future another special edition but this time with video - something similar to what Mark Baars from the Netherlands did (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4807114581261953718&q=mark+baars)
