Access Your Music and Videos Anywhere
In this day and age the trend is that you can access all your data, files, programs and applications everywhere. Thinking is changing: “if I can access the net then I should be able to access my stuff”. This is becoming the trend as applications such as Gmail, Google Reader, NewsGator Online and others are becoming the norm. With this comes innovation.
MyTunesRSS is a application that gives you access to something that you probably did not think you could over the Internet; your music and movies on iTunes! Based on JavaScript this little application will run on any OS that you throw at it. Mac and windows are of course supported. I am not sure what the download “platform independent” means but I assume that is a customizable download.
Download the application and then share your music and videos over LAN or the Internet. From what I can gather you need to have the application running to act as a server. But once that is done you can stream music through a browser, download playlists as M3U’s and play them on any player that supports the format. Plus you can set up an RSS feed of your playlists. Album art is also supported, cool.
Now the hack, share the feed with your mates and you would be able to share your tracks with anyone and everyone. By the way if you can hear it you can record it… and that’s all I am saying I am sure you will work the rest out.
Your “server is password protected. But just looking at it on face value and considering that there is no details regarding security, plus running on Java - I would use caution. As far as a LAN is concerned, it is a great way of streaming your music around the home or where ever.
See Knightwise I looked outside the box again…
