The Easiest Way to Embed Badges in your Posts or Web Page
I am not a big fan of these badges but I know that these things are all the rage. Social book marking sites can work as a marketing technique for your posts and website. But if you want to give your readers a swag of options to choose from and do it easily then Badged.net is for you.
I am a great advocate of making things easy and accessible to users. For this trick you don’t need to have any knowledge of HTML. You only need to know the name of your website and your URL. Choose what social networking services you want a badge for. Click generate and bingo. One line of code and your set.
Copy and paste this code to where you want it, either at the bottom of each post or on your web page. You can choose one, a few or many of the badges available. The trade off is the “Powered by Badged.net” at the bottom. It is a free service otherwise, provided by MyMediaRoom.
Have a look and give it a try but I would be selective in what services you offer your readers. Think of your audience and what they are probably into and stick to them. Also bear in mind that none of the top blogs on Technorati have them, then again they don’t need them do they. Nice addition to include “email this” as well, it takes to to a web form to do so. Nice service, I like it and it is very easy.
What do you guys think about badges, like them, hate them? If you love them what ones do you think we should have here if any? Or do you think it should be up to readers and listeners to add a post or website to these services without a badge?
