iPods are Not so Bad
As regular listeners of the show would know I have agonized over the fact that I really don’t like iPods, BUT I failed to find an alternative that is a comparable product. There just is not anything out there that matches the iPod at all. So I have purchased my first iPod.
Now some of you might be saying but there are better products out there. But I am talking about the whole package, iPod, iTunes the works. I have to say that despite my reservations I am impressed. It has taken me the last 2 days to sort out iTunes to do what I want it to. I owe James Gray (yes it is my brother) a big thank you for his help this afternoon. He went through a whole set of features and iPod goodness that I realized was available to me but I was not utilizing it correctly. Thanks mate.
The whole synchronization aspect is unreal, I love the fact that I can now keep on top of my podcasts and I don’t have to remember what I have listened to. Plus the fact that the next time I plug the iPod in all the latest podcasts are going to be uploaded and ready for me. Subscribing is a breeze and functionally it rocks.
I am a little critical of the fact that the iPod comes with bugger-all manual. That is not the issue - there is a manual available, you just download it from Apple. But that is not said anywhere! Sure the thing going for it is that it is easy to use, however I like manuals and would prefer to read one first or at least be able to reference it. That would be my only criticism of the product.
Overall I love my new iPod and I am excited about what it can do for me. I do feel a bit hypocritical because I have said for ages that I would never get one. Then again I have spent ages finding an alternative that is equal and there is not one at this time. Oh, and I got black, just to be different and to rebel just a tad against the “white”… Next thing I will be buying an Apple, Knightwise will be pleased.
Have a great New Year listeners and we will be back next week, hold on to your hats this year is going to be big.
