Matez, Very Blokey
The title says it all, Matez. While not aimed at blokes, it certainly appeals to them more than females. I say this is a bit blokey because the top “Featured Video” is a guy ripping dresses of chicks and touching their breasts “by accident”. Create a profile and share videos, photos. But I can not help but think I am looking at a YouTube clone, with a few bits tacked on.
Once uploaded photos and video can be commented on and rated by the community. you can customize a poll of your own for submissions. Members have a profile that can be viewed with their bio and other details.
But, the graphics are blurry and out of scale. The whole site looks like it was built by lifting the code off YouTube! Right down to the “+” tab on videos to add them to a play list and the registration page. I would be cautious in this approach to building a site. YouTube are just looking to be able to sue someone else for a change. In addition to that the code is messy, poorly constructed and easily breakable. Like a stack report being presented to a user when a page fails to load or incurs an error.
A great blokey type of social network might be good and I am sure there would be a market for it. A shame this is constructed poorly.
In the very competitive world of social networking, video and photo sharing services this quality level just won’t cut it. Users are looking for a new, fresh dynamic approach with originality and it has to look good. That is the point I am trying to make here. There are so many sites like this one out there that are conceptually great ideas and fail in the execution.
