FeedDemon 2.1 Released Today
Just in case anyone is interested in FeedDemon. NewsGator has announced the latest version is now available for download.
FeedDemon is not free but if you are serious about RSS and being able to manipulate how you read your feeds and having so much customization and features that you don’t know what to do with it all; then this is for you. It is pretty hardcore as far as News Readers or aggregators go but it is reasonably easy to find your way. It also supports enclosures. (That’s podcasts for the uninitiated).
While this new version does not offer really major changes or change the look so much, the changes and additions represent evolving software that just got a lot better. The whole list of changes and additions can be found on the release notes page. I am not even going to attempt to cover all that here! If you are interested in FeedDemon they offer a full working copy for 30 day free trial.
I know we just love IE here at the Global Geek… ahem… Knightwise is going to kill me for saying this but FeedDemon with IE 7 is a big improvement. Internet Explorer forms the shell for the reader. Although there is a hack for using Firefox, don’t know if that works in the new version. The graphical improvements in IE 7 make the feeds much easier to read and much smoother. Don’t worry my default browser is still Firefox!

Lastly if you are looking for a free aggregator then I recommend FeedReader, open source and now supporting podcasting! A very good place to start and very capable, uncomplicated aggregator.
