The Global Geek Podcast #024
Welcome to the show this week. Should be a good one, we have a special guest co-host, Knightwise is podcasting “close to amenities” and we have a heap of fun.
Sorry the show is a day late this week but I have a real job that involves shift work, this week those shifts were not agreeable with podcasting or anything else. But it is worth the wait.

Thanks for the great review of Quotiki.com in Podcast #24. Great show guys. I posted a link to the show on our company blog (http://www.3terra.com). We are working on many new elements for the site which will let our members do even more with the quotes on the site.

Guys another great show! Not sure of your listener numbers but the best way to grow your audience is to keep producing great content.
Thanks for the tip that TailRank had gone through an upgrade. I agree Techmeme is an echo chamber of A-listers! Now a new place to waste my time, oh sorry research for work :-).
Firefox V2 rocks. I love the new features however I have noticed that sometimes after I have been running Firefox for a couple of days without a restart Ctrl-T does not open a new tab. Easy to get around just shutdown, reopen and it re-opens just where I left everything with the new Restore Session feature. One of the reasons I was not shutting down is because of the hassle of opening all the tabs again.

an IE theme for firefox 2 would be good - as james points out, resistance to change is sometimes the hardest things for corps to go through.
and just because you and I like firefox and bag ie, it doesn’t mean that everyone wants to use firefox and like its look.
if that was the case, we would all be driving priuses instead of 4×4s.
one of the most powerful and important attributes of ie is its use of uniformity across its product sets. it makes it easy for people in business to pick up work in a work environment when they move if there is some uniformity across the desktop.
imagine being a person in your 30’s and not being tech savvy. you walk into a new job and the desktop you have is a mismatch of apps. your day is hell. you move into a new job with an ms environment, and things are a little better because the learning curve is not as harsh.
this is a compelling argument to make an ie theme for firefox…although I still have personal issues with ie myself :))
