It Takes a Lot of Work

I liked what Cameron Reilly said today in his blog. I have no idea what motivated him to put it up but here is an excerpt:

“Anyone can look impressive when they are rolling in the good times. But it takes true strength of character to handle the rough times.”

It was these people Cam states that he wants to have around him. While the hard times are crap by default I too think that this is when you see the true character of individuals. Anyone can enjoy success and whatever comes with that. Fewer individuals have the ability to see out and get through a tough period.

The Global Geek Podcast is a relatively new show, it is still growing. But I have found it pretty tough. I do a lot of work to get the show up for you all to listen to. I also put a lot into marketing the podcast with the means available. I am also finding it tough at the moment not being able to find someone that wants to co-host the show with me. But I am not going anywhere, I have a burning desire to succeed and do well. I just keep telling myself that it will be OK and that if I put the effort in then eventually, the rewards will be there.

Thanks for the post Cam.

Enjoy the journey dude. If it seems like work, something’s wrong. It should be fun. Effort is required. But it shouldn’t seem like work. :-)

Regarding the co-host issue… I’d love the job but I have two big problems with suggesting myself, and that is foremost that I just can’t find the time. I’m doing three shows already so… and secondly I don’t know all that much about the things you usually discuss. I don’t think I’m as techy savy as it takes.
I just wanted to let you know that if it wasn’t for these small things, I’d love to do the show with you! So I hope you find someone soon…someone GOOD! Best of luck. / Andy

OK Cam, you are right “work” is the wrong word. The effort however is definately there and plays a big part. You are right the amount of effort required IS worth the results and the satisfaction. Thanks for reminding me.

Also thank you to everybody that has sent me their encouragement and support! Good to know you are still there!
