Skype penetration in France is quite low. Skype also generates revenue through the selling of Skype Certified products. So ... they try to attract French Users, the costs of SkypeOut incurred by this is probably very low. Some of these users will buy headphones, dualphones, conferencing tools, etc. Some others will discover that calling abroad is also quite cheap. And, my guess, this promotion is untill the end of the year, not one day longer. The customers they won by this will "perhaps" remain customers. But i am guessing, i could be wrong! My guess how they are making money …
