Web Based Telephony - FREE!
Not sure if this qualifies as VoIP or not. But I saw this nifty web based application today, called Jajah, not something that I have seen done in this way before.
JAJAH’s vision is to provide free unlimited phone calls, anywhere in the world.
Put in your phone number, then the phone number that you want to call and click the “call” button. Your phone starts ringing (pick it up!) and then the other persons phone rings, they hopefully answer and you talk - apparently that simple! You can try it for free for 5 minutes and then you have to register.
The big advantage that I can see is for those people that don’t have broadband Internet connections and want to use VoIP and save some big bucks! Call costs are based on zones. Calls between Jajah users are free… Just had a thought - what if you had a friend in the Us and you lived in Australia… mmm don’t know if that is still free, BUT it says it is!
Call costs are as low as 0.025 (that’s in US).
Seems to be a great service, offering no-fuss, no download, voice calling from the home phone; activated by a web page. What next?

Thanks for your kind words and feedback! The call is free as long as it is an Australian landline phone (Zone 2), within the US even mobile phons calls are free, see http://www.jajah.com/info/rates/ for details.
Thanks and best regards, Frederik
